First, you say you just want to get better. The problem with this resolution is that it is too general and you might give up. It is better to be quite precise about your aims. Anyway, the hardest part for you might be the writing because we use different letters, so you'd have to learn a new alphabet. If vou decided to learn speaking, pronouncing some Arabic sounds only, it might be hard for an English speaker like you. I think you should find an Arab nutive speaker who can give you good conversation practice. In general, learning a language is like learning any new skill.
